Day 1 : Kilimanjaro Climb Start Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Climbing Time: 3-4 hours, 8km/5 miles After a briefing and gear check, we drive for about 1 hour to the Kilimanjaro Park Gate. We register and begin our 5 days Kilimanjaro climb. The trail leads us to the Mandara encampment, which we reach within 4 hours. You can also take a side trip to Maundi Crater for stunning views of Northern Tanzania and Kenya.

Day 2 : Leaving Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut Climbing Kilimanjaro

Duration: 5-6 hours, 12km/7.5 miles leaving the rainforest behind, we ascend through the open moorland. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The Climb takes around 6 hours, and we spend the night at Horombo Hut (3720 meters) in a valley with giant lobelias. Altitude effects may be noticeable at this point.

Day 3 : Climbing from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Climbing Duration: 5-7 hours, 9km/5.5 miles we pass the last watering point and continue toward the saddle of Kilimanjaro between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The vegetation transitions to a desert alpine zone. Take it slow due to altitude and rest and dine at Kibo Hut, where we prepare for the summit climb.

Day 4 : Continue Kibo Hut to the Summit, then Down to Horombo Hut

Climbing Time: 6-8 hours up to summit (6 km/4 miles), 15 km/9 miles descent Around 2 am, we start the climb to the summit. With headlamps or flashlights, we navigate steep scree and snow to reach Gilman's Point (5861 meters) on the crater rim. From there, it's a 2-4 hour climb to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Descend to Kibo Hut for lunch and rest, and then continue to the Horombo encampment for overnight.

Day 5 : Finalize Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Moshi

Climbing Time: 4-5 hours, 20 km/12.5 miles after breakfast, we descend steadily through moorland to Mandara Hut. Further descent through lush forest leads us to the National Park gate at Marangu. A vehicle will be waiting to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi. Those who reach the summit will receive an official certificate of achievement.
